2016 was a very busy year for AWMAC.
We partnered with Woodwork Institute to create and enhance new woodwork standards for North America that will be published in early 2017. Our Partner Program continues to grow with the addition of several partners from the industry supporting our association. I would like to thank our National Partners - Blum, Hardwoods and Richelieu, and our Supporting Partners - Akhurst, Biesse, Festool, Formations, Grass, Hettich, Homag, IMA-Schelling, Upper Canada Forest Products and Weinig Holz-her, for their continued support through 2017.
AWMAC has hired Michelle Morrell to support and assist Keith Crowder who will be retiring in July having served as our Association Manager since October 2010. A special thanks to Keith and Cheryl whose hard work continues to help us achieve our goals.
2017 is shaping up to be a busy year as well with our Convention coming up in June in Winnipeg. This will be my last term as President and it has been an honour for me to serve as President of our fine Association. I have learned that although our members are diverse, we ultimately share a common goal of upholding standards for quality architectural woodwork for our customers and the industry.
