New Architectural Woodwork Standards Manual Edition 2 and MSQ (Manufacturer Standards Questionnaire) Seminars

AWMAC held its first of two seminars to introduce the new AWS Manual Edition 2 on September 11th.  Outlined was the correct formatting for the new MSQ test that must be written by all Manufacturing Members before October 2015.

Jeff Clermont, Ontario Chapter President, reviewed the improved formatting with the attending members to help them to firstly use the Manual to their best advantage and secondly to explain the required formatting for the new MSQ test.

Any project that is tendered on or after October 1st, 2014 will need to adhere to this new manual, AWS Edition 2.  For GIS projects that are tendered after October 1st, 2014, all Manufacturing Members will have to have a Manager that has successfully passed the new MSQ test before a GIS Certificate can be issued.  To find out more about MSQ, click here.

Next seminar:  Thursday, September 25th, 2014, 2 pm – 4 pm.
Location:          Toronto Construction Association 70 Leek Crescent, Richmond Hill.

To register, contact Hermia at (416) 499-4000 x182 or email

All Manufacturer Members will receive one complimentary AWS Edition 2 manual and can purchase additional copies at the seminars or through the AWMAC office.  In addition, attendance at the seminar is considered a “participation” event and will result in a refund of the 2014 participation fee.
